5 YEARS of CLOVE

Hi family,

It’s been a while.. We wanna share with you whats been happening behind the scene since the inception of CLOVE, so here we go as we wine up for the rest of the year!

5 Years ago around this time we were 2 sophomore college students studying film and television in London and Montreal. CLOVE emerged out of a nostalgia for home. During a summer trip back to Accra, we bought a selection of fabrics and got some trousers made so we could have something cozy and fresh to wear during our winter college life. They were so vibrant and pleasing to the eye that everyone wanted a pair. This is how CLOVE was born.

What sparked the brand was the release of our 5 panel hats in May 2013.

Followed by our collection of Adinkra wooden chains.

Then the released of our snapback collection.

Followed by the Kente Leggings.

Concluding with the ‘ClassicX’ cap.

Since graduating from university we’ve been in the “real world” figuring things out. We’ve evolved from a clothing brand to a movement that represents the new age of the creative revolution.

Memorable Night was indeed the beginning of something new for us. It was a night of Accra’s dopest low key artists shutting down the Lokko Warehouse. Sheer madness and the manifestation of Neo-Spiritual league.

Round 2 was unquestionable..

So this is where we’re at. More than ever, we’ve realised that we will be doing this for life. The creative revolution with the rise of new accessible technology is creating a phenomenal never experience throughout humanities existence. Everyone is releasing their inner creativity and we look forward to creating moments as we cross paths.

So what’s next?

We are working on new products with fabric designed and made in Ghana. Next level gear is loading.. It’s been overdue.
